Pure Pest FAQs
Why Hire A Professional When I Can Try And Do It Myself?
Our professionals are fully licensed and we invest over $100,000 per year in ongoing education. Without the proper products, training, and experience, most people end up wasting their time and their original pest issue goes unresolved.
Why Is A Service Program More Effective Than A One-time Treatment?
A service program comes with year round guarantee, while a one-time treatment is only guaranteed for a short period of time. The majority of pest issues are best resolved in a proactive and preventative manner, as opposed to trying to fix an infestation after it’s begun.
How Soon Before We Can Expect Results?
Most treatments require 7-10 days to be fully effective, but your technician will educate you based on the service being provided.
How Does Rain Impact Pest Treatments?
With the exception of our mosquito reduction program and jobs requiring roof access, all of our treatments can be performed in the rain. We use products with micro-encapsulated pesticides that are actually activated by the rain, and granular products that blend well with moisture.
Is Pest Control Necessary In The Winter?
While the bugs may change, the winter is still a time to be vigilant with your pest management. Smaller flying insects like mosquitos and gnats will be reduced by the cold, but rodents will be seeking warmer temperatures during that time as well.
Additionally, pests that need indoor moisture like roaches and drain flies will still be present regardless of the temperature outside. For these reasons, Pure Pest has designed a year round treatment plan designed to protect your St. Louis area home.
Are your products eco-friendly?
At Pure Pest, we offer both eco-friendly and traditional treatment options. Both treatment options have benefits and drawbacks, and we are always glad to discuss these with you.
Do I have to sign a contract?
We utilize service agreements for all of our services to get authorization to be on a property or in a business. Our agreement is used for clarity for the customer more than a dense legal document.
Do you have a cancellation fee?
You will be responsible for paying back any discount you received on your initial service should you choose to cancel. As a customer-service business built on relationships, we will do whatever needs to be done to gain and keep customer confidence!
What if I still see bugs after a treatment? Are your services guaranteed?
We promise 100% guaranteed services for a pest-free environment under the pests originally treated on most of our services. If you are not totally satisfied with your treatment, we will come back out and reassess your property. If necessary, we will re-treat at no additional charge. Our service programs come with a year round guarantee, and one-time treatments are typically guaranteed for 30 days.
How long have you been in business?
Many companies will state that they have a certain number of years of combined industry experience, but they do not tell you how many years they have been in business. Pure Pest’s roots date back 1954.
Do you have a permanent physical location?
Often times, here today, gone tomorrow companies do not have a permanent physical location – they operate out of a home garage or storage facility. This can make them hard to track down if and when you need them in the future. Pure Pest is located at 200 S. Elam Avenue in Valley Park, MO and we are available 24/7 by phone.
Do your technicians arrive in a marked company vehicle?
While this may seem like a strange question to ask, a marked company vehicle signals to a home owner that the company servicing your home is committed to the work it is doing, and not hiring part time, or contract-based technicians who do not have the knowledge and expertise required to provide the correct solution for your home. Pure Pest only hires knowledgeable technicians who undergo extensive training, and will arrive in a marked company vehicle.
Are you fully licensed and insured?
It is important to know that anyone working in your home is fully licensed and insured for the work being performed. Pure Pest and its team of technicians and commercial applicators are fully licensed and insured. In fact, we spend over $100,000 per year in ongoing training to ensure that we only send highly qualified technicians to treat your property.
Do you perform a drug and background check on your employees before hiring them?
Since you are inviting virtual strangers into your home, it is important to know that they have been properly screened. Pure Pest pre-screens all employees with a drug and background check before hiring them.
Are you a locally owned business?
While there is certainly nothing wrong with large, out of town companies, often times they take a one size fits all approach, and do not offer the ideal products for St. Louis homes. Pure Pest is locally owned and operated, and is not a franchise, so we select only the highest quality products that are optimal for your St. Louis area home.
Can you tell me about your reputation in the community?
Many companies dread this question because, frankly, their reputation is not very good. Pure Pest prides itself on its excellent reputation in the community, which is why we work for some of the area’s largest government buildings, restaurants, hotels and schools. We have 795+ Google Reviews with a 5.0 rating, and an A+ BBB rating.
Are the products you use responsible? Are your products pet-friendly?
You can rest assured knowing Pure Pest only uses responsible products for our treatments and may be used around family & pets.
Do you belong to any professional organizations, and if so, which ones?
It is important to know that your pest control company is affiliated with organizations that promote knowledge sharing and best practices. Pure Pest belongs to the National Pest Management Association, the Missouri Pest Management Association, the Greater St. Louis Pest Control Association, the Home Builders Association of St. Louis, and the Better Business Bureau.
